Thank you for your honesty and your question. You are being self aware by acknowledging that you feel you might be addicted to Tiktok. Keep in mind that social media outlets can cause addictive behaviors. Tik Tok, and others are designed ot trigger reward centers in our brains if for instance, you post somethig on Tiktok and you get a lot of likes. Rather than taking a giant leap by quitting Tiktok all together (as quitting cold turkey may increase your likelihood to go back to it even longer) try smaller steps. Try, for example, keeping your phone away from where you usually are during the day whether at work or home- stick the phone in a place not convenient to just grab while in your usual spot. Another example would be to set a timer to ten minutes three times a day to use TikTok for a week. Decrease time each week until you feel you are looking at Tiktok reasonbly vs an hour per day. What is going through your mind when you reach for your phone to turn on Tiktok? Perhaps your are avoiding something more important like a school assignment or project at work. Perhaps you have to do a home project and are avoiding that as well. Really observe your thoughts and actions as well as how you are feeling emotionally before grabbing your phone. Looking at Tiktok can be a form of "numbing out." Observe what you are avoiding by being on your phone.
